The Mustard Seed Team welcomed the Revd Caroline Beckett to lead training on creative ways to use liturgy and the lectionary with children and young people.
"Caroline shared a number of bible stories with us and demonstrated some creative ways to get into the story. We tried out musical instruments, questions, tin foil and actions. Caroline [also] led a very moving ‘sermon without words’ focusing on the death and resurrection of Jesus. The session really helped us to think about how we can help people, not just young people, to really engage with the bible in different ways, bringing it to life and offering engaging ways that enable us to reflect deeply on the stories. In the afternoon, [we] led training on preparing children and young people for Baptism, admission to Holy Communion and Confirmation. We reflected on each of these and shared some resource and ideas around ways to plan and prepare for each of them."
